Yorkshire in Bloom

Flower
Yorkshire in Bloom is the regional level of the ‘In Bloom’ competitions and is held on an annual basis.  It is open to all local communities, villages, towns and cities within the Yorkshire and the Humber Region.

The competition's aim is to promote and support the enhancement of, and pride in our cities, towns and villages through floral displays and landscaping, and to encourage communities, businesses, civic institutions and local authorities to work together to improve the local environment by reducing litter, graffiti and vandalism.

Sheffield is preparing itself to enter Yorkshire In Bloom again in 2008 so watch out for the blooming of the city as Spring turns into Summer.

This year we have a record breaking 13 of Sheffield's communities entering Yorkshire in Bloom.  These range from Bolsterstone to Firth Park and Grenoside to Beighton.   Local people and businesses come together to organise participation in environmental improvements, and submit their entry.

Sheffield City Council is providing support to these community groups and wishes them the best of luck in the Competition.

If you are interested in getting involved please call Street Force Marketing and Communities Section on 0114 273 4221.
