Burglar Alarms

Burglar Alarms can cause nuisance if they go off and there is no one to switch them off.

It is a good idea to make sure that any alarm you have fitted has a cut off which switches it off after no more than 20 minutes.

The other alternative is to provide one or more named keyholders who can be contacted if the alarm goes off. The name(s) of the keyholder should be known to your neighbours or can be registered with the Council.

If you are registered with the Council we will be able to contact a keyholder in the event of a complaint.

If an alarm is causing nuisance, which generally means it has been ringing for a long time, contact the service and we will send someone out to investigate and take the necessary action to stop the noise.

Please Note: we do not offer a weekend or out of hours call out service.

If we have to cut off an alarm we have no liability for any subsequent burglary and we will recover our costs from the property owner.
