The Sheffield Guarantee has Continuing Professional Development at its heart. Its aim is to support the recruitment and retention of staff in Sheffield schools, give them recognition for their achievements, and supports their aspirations and career progression.
"The Sheffield Guarantee" is a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) package based on the 3 R's of:
- Recruitment
- Retention
- Recognition
Several key strands underpin the package and are fundamental to Sheffield's commitment to:
- Provide a framework for CPD of all school-based staff throughout their careers
- Promote high quality teaching and learning through recognised and accredited professional development
- Promote Sheffield as a place to live and learn
As a Newly Qualified Teacher in Sheffield you can expect support and encouragement from your school and the Local Authority with regards to your professional, personal and career development. You will benefit from a range of training and development opportunities contained within Sheffield's Newly qualified teacher support package. The package has been specifically designed to help all NQTs successfully complete their induction year and achieve Qualified Teacher Status, and registration with the General Teaching Council (England).
