Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Application Process

There is funding for the financial year 2009/10 for teaching assistants and staff supporting teaching and learning in the classroom to gain Higher Level Teaching Assistant Status.

Support staff, with the support from their Headteacher, can apply for funding on a termly basis.

Prospective candidates also need to have undertaken a Training Needs Analysis prior to submitting their application. Please see Flyer A for details.

Briefing sessions are held termly to inform prospective candidates on the funding application process, training routes available and the assessment process.  See Flyer B for details

Details of closing dates for applications for funding rounds can be found on Flyer C.

There is specific criterion an applicant needs to meet to gain funding. These are set out in the Information and Guidance page.

There is also an opportunity for prospective candidates to attend a Taster Session, details on Flyer D.

The Maths and Science specialist routes may be offered again in the Autumn Term 2010 subject to demand and funding.
