‘Our vision to provide a creative curriculum arose from our concerns that the primary school timetable was becoming very similar to that of a secondary school. Children’s learning was separated into very discrete subject areas and on any one day they could experience up to six different areas of learning. We felt that this encouraged a teacher led approach and we were keen to develop a curriculum where children could take charge of their own learning and express themselves in a variety of ways’.

This DVD documents a six week after school project called the ‘Creative Club’. This club was set up to help link thinking skills and key curriculum areas through fun and creative extra-curricular activities.

 

Included on the DVD are resources and information to help schools implement the use of Edward De Bono’s Six Thinking Hats both in and out of school.

 

This project took place at Lowedges Primary school in Summer 2005.
