Achieving Creative Education Introduction Programme
Sheffield Arts Education and Creative Partnerships Sheffield are working together to provide Sheffield teachers and teaching assistants with an exciting new training programme developing ideas and approaches to creativity in learning and teaching from the Foundation Stage to Key Stage Four.
All courses are free to attend for schools which have subscribed to the Achieving Creative Education (ACE) programme. If your school has not subscribed you may pay for individual courses. Prices for courses are shown below.
Sessions will be available in a variety of different formats including:
- Meetings/Seminars (£30) - Information sharing usually half days or after school sessions.
- Workshops (£60) - Practical sessions usually half days or after school sessions.
- Development days (£120) - Full days with time for practical work, information sharing and reflection.
You can book places on courses using the online booking system. To view available courses please go to ace courses 2007/08 or ace courses 2008/09.
Our aim is to create environments and opportunities within which teachers can explore the characteristics of creative thought and action and develop and reflect upon their own approaches to using creative methods and strategies within the school and beyond.
Staff meetings and INSET days for individual schools are available at a cost of £350 per day for schools subscribed to the ACE Programme and £460 per day for schools not subscribed. Please contact Sheffield Arts Education to discuss your individual needs.
The programme will:
- Explore and develop teachers' understanding of creative teaching, learning, thinking, speaking and questioning.
- Explore the practice of working with others.
- Offer time to share, reflect and evaluate practice within your own school and in individual classroom practice.
- Provide a fresh approach to thinking about creativity and risk taking.
- Use ideas from local, national and international practice.
- Explore both cross-curricular and generically creative methods, ideas and activities.
