The Religious Education pages have been assembled in response to requests by teachers. They are provided by the Learning and Achievement Service of the Children and Young peoples’ Directorate of the Sheffield City Council.
 
There is no full time Religious Education advisor for Sheffield, but a part-time Lead Professional for Religious Education.
 
The roles of this post are to:
 
  • Organise networks of RE leaders and teachers
  • Identify and disseminate good practice
  • Improve teaching and learning by working directly with schools
  • Support the local Standard Advisory Council for Religious Education (SACRE) in its work to support schools
