The Key Stage 3 Inclusion Service supports students from 11 – 14 years who are either permanently excluded from Sheffield Secondary Schools or referred for re-engagement. The purpose of our service is to re-engage the student in learning and prepare them for re-integration [a return] to another mainstream school. A limited intervention service is available. Students returning to mainstream are based at our Riverside Site and those with more complex needs at Clarkehouse Road. The service supports families throughout the time a student is out of school and works with other agencies when appropriate. We offer a package of support for the student returning to their new school. Our aim is to ‘unlock potential’.
A recent OfSTED report (October 2006) praised the "progress being made by students in turning around their behaviour, attendance and achievement."

KS3 Inclusion Service offers students the opportunity to achieve, raise their self-esteem and see the value in learning. We work on strategies to enable them to be successful in mainstream through challenging and addressing behaviours that led to exclusion. In 2006 96% of students made successful transfers back to mainstream.
50 students returned to mainstream and 2 to Special schools.
