Who's who in Early Years Education and Childcare Service
The Early Years Education and Childcare (EYECS) Senior Management Team (SMT) have responsibility for supporting the development and delivery of the City’s Childcare Strategy.

Overall responsibility for the running of EYECS which includes the overarching Early Years Education & Childcare Strategy, implementing the Government Sure Start agenda, developing and maintaining cross-directorate working and establishing and forging good partnership working through commissioning and contracting with the Statutory & PVI sectors.

the City, implementing a strategy to develop 31 Children’s Centres in Sheffield by 2008.

Responsible for supporting the development and delivery of Phase 1, 2 & 3 Children’s Centres across the South of the City. Providing Professional support to Childcare Managers within Children’s Centres. Acting as the Safeguarding lead for the Service and links to the Safeguarding Board.

Responsible for supporting the development and delivery of Phase 1, 2 & 3 Children's Centres across the North of the City. Overseeing the monitoring of City-Wide contracts, links to Health and lead for Teenage Pregnancy/Parent support.
Workforce Development Manager - Vacant
Responsible for developing the Early Years Workforce Strategy, including management of funding streams and a referral service for qualifications. The Workforce Developement Manager also manages the Early Years Participation team.
Judy Thompson – Community Based Childcare Manager

Responsible for the strategic lead on Citywide Community Based Childcare Strategy, the development of Sheffield ‘Children Come First’ Home Based Childcare Network and Home Based Childcare offer within Children’s Centres. She is responsible for management of the citywide Community Based Childcare Team
