Early Years Workforce Information

The Workforce Development Team

The Workforce Development Team is responsible for the lead on workforce development in the private, voluntary and independent early years and playwork sector. The team monitors workforce profiles and workforce development needs through an annual collation of data, using this information to develop a strategy for raising the qualification levels of the workforce.

The team is also responsible for managing the Graduate Leader Fund - to support this agenda. The team identifies funding and support through partnership working and managing elements of contracts with voluntary and community sector organisations. It also provides a vocational signposting service for the sector and represents the sector on the local authority’s wider Children’s Services Workforce Development agenda

The Early Years Education and Childcare Service also has close links with the Learning and Achievement Service. For more information, please see the Learning and Achievement pages.
