New Single Unified Formula

The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) require all Local Authorities (LA) to develop and introduce a new single (unified)  local formula for funding the early year’s provision in the maintained and Private, Voluntary and Independent (PVI) Sector over the next two years and by 2010-11 at the latest.  This is to support the extension of the 15 hours and increasing flexibility of the free entitlement.

A paper was presented at Schools Forum in October recommending that the new single formula and participation led funding for the free entitlement be introduced from April 2010, this recommendation was approved.
