Race Equality Resources
When the new Racial Incidents guidance "4Rs Recording Resolving Reviewing & Reporting - Racial Incidents in Schools" was launched on 22 April 2004, school representatives requested information about resources presented in the Race Equality Forum.
Throwing Stones
The pack contains a video telling the moving story of two friends torn apart by racism and is supported by comprehensive teaching guide. This is the first pack of its kind targeting this age group and links into schools' Key Stage 2 and 3 work in:
- Personal, Social and Health Education
- The new Citizenship curriculum
- Literacy
and helps all schools to fulfil their statutory requirements under the Race Relations Amendment Act (2000) to promote race equality.
Colour Blind
The Colour Blind video covers three main themes: identity and what it means to be British, citizenship and racism. As these are sensitive topics which can cause controversy it is essential that clear group ground rules are established as suggested in the first lesson plan.
