Sheffield Association of School Governing Bodies
We are pleased to work in partnership with the independent Sheffield Association of School Governing Bodies (SASGB). SASGB is affiliated to the National Governors' Association (NGA) and all Governing Bodies in Sheffield are automatically members of SASGB.
As well as producing its own termly SASGB Newsletter for Sheffield's School Governors, SASGB meets twice termly with the Executive Director of Children and Young People's Services to discuss issues raised by Governing Bodies across the city.
SASGB members serve on a number of working groups Representing Governing Bodies in Sheffield and play a key role in organising the termly Governors' briefings by the Executive Director. Summaries and handouts from previous briefings can be found by following this link to the Executive Director's Briefings page, and then selecting the date of the Briefing you are interested in from the menu on the left.
The association holds an annual networking event for Chairs of Governing Bodies. View or download a summary of issues raised at the last networking meeting in January 2009 and some useful links to further information and guidance from the bottom of this page.
The association also holds an Annual General Meeting with guest speakers and opportunities for open discussion. Follow the link for more information.
The content of the SASGB pages is the responsibility of the Association, subject to approval by the Governor Support Team.
If you have any queries please Contact the Governor Support Team.
