  • Beacon Award - Sheffield City Council's Education Human Resources and School Effectiveness Service  won Beacon Council status for their work in "Transforming the School Workforce"
  • Building Schools for the Future - BSF is a national initiative by the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) designed to improve educational attainment by improving England’s secondary school buildings and facilities.
  • Extended Schools - An extended school works with the local authority and other partners to offer access to a range of services and activities that support and motivate children and young people to achieve their full potential.
  • Secondary Strategy - The Strategy helps schools to improve standards by focusing on teaching and learning. It offers continuing professional development for subject teachers and school managers, plus consultancy, guidance and teaching materials
  • SY e-learning -   delivery and realisation of the the benefits of information and communications technology (ICT) in education and training in schools, homes, colleges, businesses and the community through enhanced learning and skills training.
  • Transforming Sheffield - The Sheffield Strategy, to transform secondary education through the creation of a lasting Diversity Framework, is being driven by the active partnership of Sheffield's school, the Sheffield College, the South Yorkshire Learning and Skills Council and the Sheffield Children's Service Authority.
