Children and Young People's Services

The new Children and Young People’s Services (CYPS) holds the functions of the new Children’s Services Authority (CSA).

It was formally established on 1st August 2005 and is led by Jonathan Crossley-Holland, Sheffield’s first Director of Services to Children and Young People. Together with the Lead Member for Children and Young People, also a statutorily designated position, the Children's Services Authority will lead the development of a new era in the provision of services for children and young people, uniting Social Services Children and Families staff and Education staff to work within a new partnership framework overseen by the 0 -19+ Partnership Board.

You can use these pages to contact the Children's Services Authority. The service structure and service plans are available to download. The service is located in a number of buildings around the City and these are available in a downloadable locations map.

You can search for abbreviations and terms used by the Children's Services Authority or any other large organisation involved in learning and skills in the glossary of abbreviations.

If you feel you have a grievance or comment on the service you have received from the Local Authority you can see the the complaints procedures for the various parts of the service.

There is also an opportunity to send in any comments, complaints or suggestions through the Children's Services Authority feedback form.
