Sheffield School Budget Statement 2007-08

Section 52 of the Schools Standards and Framework Act 1998 requires each Children's Service Authority (CSA) to prepare a budget statement before the beginning of each financial year, i.e. by 31st March.  Sheffield's Schools Budget for financial year 2007-08 is set out in the downloadable spreadsheets below.

The budget statement is intended to provide a comprehensive picture of the authority's planned expenditure on education, including:

  • how much of the education budget the CSA intends to spend on items outside the Schools Budget
  • how much the CSA is proposing to retain centrally to spend on school-related services
  • how delegated Budget Shares for each individual school are calculated.

The format of the section 52 education budget statement is set nationally by the Department for Education and Skills (DfES), and statements are subject to verification by the DfES.
