Section 52 Outturn Statement 2005-06

At the start of each financial year, the Children's Services Authority is required to produce a statement analysing its budget into the following categories:

  • Schools Budget (which includes both delegated budgets and services which support schools)
  • Strategic Management
  • Specific Grants
  • Special Education
  • School Improvement
  • Access to Education
  • Youth & Community Funding

The format of the statement is defined by the DfES in Section 52(1) of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998.

Following the end of the financial year, the Children's Services Authority is required to produce a statement analysing actual expenditure and income.  This statement incorporates a mixture of information from Schools Consistent Financial Reporting returns and out-turn data. This is analysed for schools and non-schools into the categories which are broadly consistent with those outlined above. This enables actual performance to be monitored against budget performance and against other authorities. This statement is known as the Section 52 Outturn Statement and a copy can be downloaded (in two parts) below. Internet users without access to Excel, may use an Excel viewer (this link will open in a separate window).
