Conciliation Services
Officers
within the SEN Section welcome the opportunity to meet with parents at
any stage to discuss any concerns you may have directly. It would
be hoped that such discussions would prove fruitful in terms of
resolving any potential difficulties that may arise.
If
required, alternative forms of independent advice and support do exist,
which can often be of great help to parents. Parents are
encouraged to avail themselves of the assistance of the Parent Partnership Service (Young
Children's Service) who can be contacted on (0114) 292 2161.
Further information on this service is available in the form of an
information booklet, which can be downloaded from this site. Information is also available from the SEN Section.
A Regional Information Service
(01226) 786343 is also available to assist in resolving any areas of
dispute that may arise between parents and the CSA. Again, their
information booklets may be downloaded from this site.
The
Authority wish to offer reassurance that any involvement sought from
either a local or regional conciliation service would not be
prejudicial to any appeal parents may subsequently decide to lodge with
the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Tribunal (SENDIST).
