Special Educational Needs (SEN) - About Us
Please use the menu on the left to find information you require. If you have any particular queries that are not answered on the site please contact us.
We are responsible for the statutory assessment, placement and review of children with special educational needs in accordance with the SEN Code of Practice. Parents/carers are invited to a special meeting once the Children & Young People’s Directorate (CYPD) has agreed to assess their child’s special needs. This is a meeting for parents/carers where CYPD officers explain the process and answer general questions. There are opportunities then, or at a later date if requested by the parents/carers, to respond to individual queries.
