Catering for pupils with special diets is a very important part of the School Food Service. The document below contains details of Chartwells special diet procedures.
Chartwells currently provide 245 pupils in Sheffield Schools with Special Diets across 100 different allergy variations. As of January 2010 the top five diet/allergies were: -
- Nuts - 66 pupils
- Lactose - 17 pupils
- Gluten Free - 15 pupils
- Eggs - 9 Pupils
- Nut/Eggs - 8 Pupils
Following the introduction of the new menus on the 2nd November 2009 all diets were updated and re-issued to Chartwells catering staff.
