Sheffield Local Authority has issued two documents which give guidance on taking leave during term time which can be downloaded below.
The Local Authority Policy statement on Term Time Leave
- issued in May 2004 gives the Department for Education & Skills (DfES) guidelines, the legal position and outlines the Local Authority's School Term Time Leave Policy.
The Local Authority Policy Statement for raising achievement through reducing extended absence during term time
- issued in May 2004 outlines the Local Authority's procedures for requesting and granting extended leave for pupils to visit the country of family origin.
