Admission policy
Infant Class Size Restrictions
Infant class size legislation became statutory as from September 2001. The CSA has a duty to ensure that infant classes of 5, 6 and 7 year olds do not contain more than 30 pupils to a single teacher. Parents must be aware that this restriction may affect the CSA's ability to offer a place at the preferred school.
The Admissions Policy
Sheffield City Council operates a catchment area based admissions policy. If more applications are received for a particular school than there are places available, the CSA's (Children Service Authority) admissions policy prioritises places according to these admission criteria.
