School Pupil Admissions
Welcome to School Pupil Admissions
The School Pupil Admissions Team is responsible for processing admission applications for:
Entrance into Reception
- Year 3 (transfer from separate infant to junior Schools)
- Year 7 (transfer from Primary to Secondary School).
- A change of school outside the normal transfer times.
In order to manage the admissions processes for Reception and Y3 we co-ordinate with schools within Sheffield. At Y7 we co-ordinate with schools in Sheffield, Rotherham and Barnsley.
We also provide advice and guidance to parents/carers regarding this process to assist them in applying for and securing a school place.
The co-ordination of admissions in this way aims to make the process easier and more transparent for parent/carers.
In addition to the above responsibilities the team has the following duties;
- Administration of admission into Sixth Form schools for external students.
- Advising parents/carers of their right to appeal and what the process involves.
- Representing the Authority at appeal hearings.
- Offering guidance and advice and processing applications for zero fare bus passes.
- Management of the School Crossing Patrol Service.
You will be able to apply for a school place online if you child is transferring from Primary to Secondary School in September 2008, or if you have a child transferring from a separate Infant to Junior School in September 2008 or if you have a child starting full time education for the first time in 2008/09.
