Studying Overseas
If you are a student choosing to study at a university overseas, you will not be entitled to the UK's Student Finance support package.
As you will face different issues and expenses depending upon the country you plan to study in, it is essential that you begin to research and plan early.
Studying in a European Country
As a UK national you are entitled to equal treatment at European Universities.
This means that you will be charged the same level of fees as nationals of that country.
If the country provides grants for tuition fees you will be eligible to apply for one under the same terms as nationals, however this does not apply to maintenance grants.
You will also be eligible to apply for work to help with your living costs in European countries.
Studying in a Non-European Country
Outside of Europe most international students have to fund their own study and living costs from their own or family resources.
However, there are some scholarships available, as well as help through charitable trusts.
The following websites give general advice for students planning to study overseas, including links to sources of funding and country specific sources of information.
