Funder Finder – People in Need

The Funder Finder People in Need programme is designed for individuals seeking funding for training or study.
It can either be used by the individual themselves or by an advisor on their behalf.
The information contained within the system is taken from national directories of grant giving trusts.
The number of trusts covered is expanding over time as the system is still under development.
The information is updated on an annual basis.
There is also the facility to add information about local trusts not covered by the programme.
Major Sheffield trusts are already included in the system.

Career Development Loans

If you cannot get any funding to help pay for your course, you may be able to apply for a Career Development Loan.
These are available for vocational courses, at any level, whether full-time, part-time or distance learning.
The loans, from £300 to £8000 for courses of up to two years duration (or a 3-year course that includes work experience) are available through certain high street banks in collaboration with the Department for Education and Skills.

Can offer advice on all sources of funding, including educational charities, particularly for disadvantaged students.

This provides details and addresses of national and regional charities in the UK, including organisations, which offer financial help to students and trainees.

It includes information on grants for Further and Higher education.

A guide to sources of funding available to students in need, listing trusts and foundations. It covers courses up to and including first degree level, but not postgraduate level.
