Healthy Eating Policy

In 2005, the National Governors' Council, now the National Governors' Association (NGA), working with the Food Standards Agency, produced 'Food Policy in Schools - A Strategic Policy Framework for School Governing Bodies'.  In March 2008 a supplement to this policy 'Catering and Food Procurement' was published.

In March 2006, OfSTED produced a Report on Healthy Eating in Schools.  This recommends that all schools should have a Food Policy and also offers guidance on policy content.
