Guide to the Law
Following a pilot exercise in Spring 2007, 15 copies of A Guide to the Law for School Governors were delivered to schools in a CD-ROM format in the Summer Term 2007.
The CD-ROM includes additional information about Teachers' TV and programmes which Governors should find helpful. The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF)issues a new Guide in this format approximately twice a year. Their intention is to dispense with time consuming updates and reduce their carbon footprint, whilst still keeping Governors informed.
Schools may download the Guide to the Law from the Governornet website and print it off if paper copies are required by individual members of their Governing Body. The pilot exercise, however, indicated that the majority of Governors will access the Guide via the CD-ROM or online through Governornet.
