School Profile
The Education Act 2005 introduced School Profiles to replace the Annual Report to Parents issued by Governing Bodies. The Governing Body of the school should approve the School Profile before it is made publicly available.
The School Profile is a short online document for parents, giving information about the school's progress, priorities and performance. It contains school performance data, a summary of the OFSTED report pre-populated by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCFS) and narrative sections completed by the school.
Schools access their School Profiles on the Teachernet website. The School Profile template has been changed in response to feedback received during the first year of its completion and is now available for schools to complete. The DCSF strongly advise that anyone intending to draft text for their profile reads the guidance in the DfES School Profile Re-Launch Announcement on 12 December 2006 before they begin.
Completed School Profiles are publicly available on the DirectGov website, by entering the name of the school and selecting the School Profile option for that school.
