Performance Management
School Improvement Partners (SIPs) took over the role of External Adviser in Sheffield's Secondary Schools in Autumn 2006. The SIP will discuss arrangements on their initial visit to the school and then make arrangements with the Performance Management Governors.
Primary School SIPs started to work with Sheffield schools from April 2007. The SIP will act as adviser to the Performance Management Governors as in Secondary Schools. From September 2007 the Governors who meet with the Headteacher to agree objectives will be known as Reviewers.
SIPs will be introduced for Special Schools in 2008. In the interim Special Schools can continue to use the services of a previous External Adviser.
