Single Equality Scheme

Guidance on developing a Single Equality Scheme incorporating Gender, Race and Disability and also the duty to promote Community Cohesion, was issued to schools in October 2007. 

 

Gender Equality Duty

The Gender Equality Duty came into force in April 2007 and requires all public bodies, including schools, to eliminate unlawful discrimination and harassment on grounds of sex and to promote equality of opportunity between women and men.

Accessibility Planning

All Governing Bodies should have a three year Accessibility Plan in place to run to March 2009.
