Armchair Banking

Your bank may have a system to allow you to pay bills from your bank account.  This could be from your banks internet site, they may have a telephone service, interactive television, a counter service or an automated teller machine (ATM).

To pay your Council Tax by any of these methods, you will need to follow your own banks instructions. But in all cases you must quote your Council Tax account reference number as it is shown on your bill.

You will be asked for the Councils bank details.

The Council’s bank account sort code is 08 90 75.

The Councils bank account reference number is 61190289.

Important things to know

Your payment may not be credited to your account if you do not quote our bank account details in full and your Council Tax account number.

If you decide to pay by armchair banking, it will take around 4 working days before the Council receives your payment. The Council will not know that you have paid until it receives your money and may start recovery action if you have paid later than the due date shown on your bill.

If you have forgotten to pay and your due date has passed, please pay immediately by debit card over the phone or by cash or cheque in person.

Please take a few moments to give us your feedback and rate this site.
