Review of Delivery (Review 4)

Review 4 takes place after the project has been delivered. Review 4 aims to enable the project board to sign off the project as finished.

Review of Project Delivery

The Leaflet 'Review Prompt' (contact the Corporate Programme Office for a copy) gives a reasonably comprehensive list of the sort of questions a Sponsor will probably want to ask. They include:

  • Did the project deliver what it set to?
  • Is there still work outstanding
  • Is the business case still valid?
  • Are lessons for future projects being identified?

Scrutiny of Benefits Realisation

At review 4, the Sponsor, Board and manager should be scrutinising the plans to ensure that any implementation or roll out of the project will successfully take place, including:

  • Are the original business benefits likely to be achieved?
  • Are we ready to implement the project outcome?
  • Are handover arrangements in place?

Once Review 4 has been conducted a timetable needs to be set for Closing the Project.
