Farmers' and Specialist Markets

Sheffield Markets will be hosting a programme of specialist markets in 2009, ranging from Continental and Farmers' Markets to Craft Markets.  We will also be providing specialist markets at many city centre events, such as Fright Night:
 
 

Farmers' Markets:

 
At the farmers' markets you can buy fresh produce from local farmers and producers including fresh fruit and veg, bakery products, home-made pickles, chutneys and jams and of course a range of fresh, local meat.

These markets are held on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at Barkers Pool (in between John Lewis and Sheffield City Hall) between 9am and 4.30pm. The dates are detailed below.

Continental Markets:

 
At these markets you can buy a range of products, gifts and food from around Europe. These markets are held on Fargate.

Craft Markets:

 
The Sheffield Craft markets offer a great selection of things a little out of the ordinary, from hand made jewellery and carvings, to clothing and artwork.  There is something there for everyone and you will find the traders have a wealth of knowledge about the products they are selling. 
 
Many of the Craft markets form part of other events in parks and in Sheffield City Centre.  A full list with dates and locations is listed below:
 
  • 30th April to 4th May: World Snooker Festival Market, Fargate, Sheffield City Centre
  • 11th to 12th July: Cliffhanger Craft Market, Millhouses Park
  • 13th - 15th August: Summer Craft Market, Fargate, Sheffield City Centre
  • 30th to 31st August: Sheffield Fayre Craft Market, Norfolk Heritage Park
  • 5th to 6th September: Art in the Gardens Craft Market, Botanical Gardens
  • 23rd to 25th October: Autumn Craft Market / Fright Night, Fargate, Sheffield City Centre
  • 20th to 22nd November: City Lights Craft Market, Fargate, Sheffield City Centre
  • 10th to 13th December: Sheffield Christmas Market, Fargate, Sheffield City Centre
