Taxi Licensing Section

 

The Taxi and Private Hire Licensing Section provides both administrative and statutory services on behalf of the Council as the Licensing Authority.

 

The Taxi and Private Hire Licensing Section licences and regulates, Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Drivers, Hackney Carriage Vehicles, Private Hire Vehicles (up to eight passenger seats) and Private Hire Operators.

 

The Taxi and Private Hire Licensing Section is based at the rear of the Town Hall, Norfolk Street entrance. The reception is open on Monday to Friday between the hours of 10.00am to 4.00pm. Telephone numbers are 0114 273 4005 or 0114 2734690, the Sections fax number is 0114 2734073.
