What is a Motor salvage operator?

A motor salvage operator is anyone who carries on a business

  4. Wholly or mainly in activities falling within paragraphs 2 and 3

How do I register?

You need to complete the application form, available as a downloadable document at the bottom of the page, and send it with a payment of £75.00 to the Licensing General section.

A copy of all applications for motor salvage operators is sent to South Yorkshire Police for their comments.

Generally all applications will be dealt with within 28 days of the date of application.  However there may be occasions where an application has to be placed before the Licensing Board which is likely to result in a delay in determining an application.

How long does the registration last?

Each registration will be valid for a period of three years from the date on which the entry is made in the register.

You can renew the registration after this three year period on payment of a further fee of £75.00.
