Transferring a Premises Licence
The Licensing Act 2003 allows for any person to apply to transfer a premises licence into their name.
How to apply
You must complete the downloadable application form at the bottom of the page in accordance with the guidance and submit it along with:
- A fee of £23.00
- the consent of the current premises licence holder;
- and the original licence document.
If for any reason you are not able to gain the consent of the current premises licence holder or submit the original licence document, please contact us.
You must give notice of your application to South Yorkshire Police (address in downloadable guidance below) by sending them a copy of the application form.
Please note: the transfer can take effect immediately or on a date specified by yourself, however, where the police are satisfied that granting the application would undermine the crime prevention objective, they are able to object to the application.
Where an objection is received by the police, a hearing must be held to consider it.
