Health and Safety

Our Health and Safety team help to ensure that workplaces in Sheffield including many public buildings are safe and healthy for both employees and the public.

 

We enforce health and safety at work legislation in approximately 9,000 premises by carrying out  routine inspections, investigating accidents and responding to complaints about premises.

 

The premises we visit include those where the main activity is retail, wholesale, offices leisure, catering and residential accommodation. The Health and Safety Executive are the enforcing authority for manufacturing and construction activities, fairgrounds, agricultural premises, medical activities, Local Government buildings and work activity at domestic premises.
