Highlights of 2007/08
- With the constraints of a slow-down in the property market, we have sustained a high level of capital receipts to contribute to the Council’s capital spending programme.
- The division continues to contribute to making Sheffield a Great Place to Grow Up, through our representation on Building Schools for the Future Project Team, in particular Silverdale School, Yewlands School and Newfield School
- In support of the continued growth in the city’s economy, we successfully delivered the property acquisition programme for completion of the new inner ring road, facilitationg development of alternative premises for the RSPCA.
Objectives for 2008/09
- Achieve capital receipts programme for 2008/09
- Effective use of Compulsory Purchase Powers to progress Council’s Service Delivery and regeneration initiatives.
- Successful acquisition of property for Neighbourhoods regeneration.
Environmental Issues
Targets Set
1. Reduce paper consumption by 10%;
2. No more internal memos sent on paper.
3. Recycle all white paper.
4. Use the scanners and e-mail system more
Achieved
40% reduction in A4 paper - 95,000 less sheets
50% reduction in A3 paper – 4,500 less sheets
A total of 99,500 less sheets of paper used, which results in a saving of 32 trees and a cost saving of £343.01
Financial Targets
Total Cost of operating the service in 2007/2008 was £2,099,320 which is a 13% reduction on the previous year.
