About Us
The work of PPPM covers two main areas:
Projects Team
The Project Team's principal areas of work include the management of large corporate projects, appointing consultants and securing continuous improvements in the way services are delivered. The team is a 'one stop shop' for all aspects of the procurement process - from Invitations to Tender through to appropriate forms of contract. Fees for the services are generally charged where the project/procurement is externally funded.
Purchasing
The role of the Purchasing Team is to make sure the Council gets the very best value for the money it spends. The team's core responsibility is to let a range of corporate contracts for goods and services for the whole Council such as photocopiers and window cleaning through to accommodation for domestic animals. Other initiatives in purchasing include:
- rolling out of new contracts for areas not previously covered
- e-procurement - identifying and maximising the opportunities
- joint contracting initiatives and collaboration with other public sector bodies
The two teams are supported by our Administration Team who provide day to day support and manage our Approved List of Contractors.
